The program will highlight the Georgia Trust’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the state’s significant historic\, archaeological\, and cultural resources that face threats from demolition\, neglect\, lack of maintenance\, inappropriate development\, and inadequate public policy. \nDoors open at 6:30 PM for light refreshments\, with the program beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is free for SAHS members\, while guests are encouraged to make a $5.00 per person donation. The public is invited to attend.

Over 250 collector and performance cars\, trucks and motorcycles will be displayed at the scenic Marimac Lakes in Senoia. \nThere is no admission charge for spectators. Those wishing to display their collector or performance car\, truck or motorcycle are asked to register ahead for $20 per vehicle. Same day registration is also available for $25/per car\, truck or motorcycle. All makes and models are welcomed. DESCRIPTION:The Senoia Area Historical Society’s Monthly Program on February 13th will feature author Allan C. Payton\, the author of a civil war story\, “1\,417 Days in Rebellion:A History of the 19th Georgia Regiment”. \nAs a lover of U.S. history\, Payton decided to make a commitment to find out more about his ancestor\, John. Bunyan Samples. J. B. Samples was Payton’s paternal great-great grandfather. According to family lore\, Samples was a struggling one-legged farmer in Georgia. Payton’s research about his ancestor led him to an amazing story of the 19th Georgia Regiment. Payton will have copies available for purchase and autographing. \nThe museum doors will open at 6:30 PM for light refreshments and museum touring\, the program will start at 7:00 P.M. SAHS members\, Historians and corporate sponsors are always free\, non-members are encouraged to donate $5.00 per visit.
