The Market is open to the public\, and there is no charge for admission. \nPickin’ on the Square occurs simultaneously around the courthouse square during the Market Day. Come experience the vernacular sounds of local musicians playing acoustic music around the courthouse lawn! We invite any musician with an acoustic instrument to join and play at their own accord. Pickin’ on the Square is a fantastic networking opportunity for musicians to collaborate with other artists and welcomes all genres of music and skill levels. Pickin’ on the Square is a fantastic networking opportunity for musicians to collaborate with other artists and welcomes all genres of music and skill levels. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 2023 Rock’n the HOP\, held at The House of Pickleball (HOP)\, a beautiful 15-court pickleball facility in Newnan. There are six National Register Historic Districts containing some of Georgia’s most beautiful homes and commercial buildings. When you aren’t playing pickleball\, you can enjoy a self-guided driving tour and see the districts that include Antebellum and Victorian homes\, the 1904 historic courthouse\, Oak Hill Cemetery\, the Train Depot and the McRitchie Hollis Museum. \nThis tournament is a Southern Pickleball/Georgia Pickleball Association Sanctioned Tournament. In addition all 50+ divisions are part of the USSP (United States Senior Pickleball) Tour. Registration is now closed but players may reach out directly to the event organizer to potentially get on the roster. \nThe schedule is as follows:\nFriday\, May 5th – Senior Men’s & Women’s Doubles – 60+ & 70+ age brackets\nSaturday\, May 6th – Mixed Doubles\nSunday\, May 7th – Men’s and Women’s Doubles – 15+\, 35+ & 50+ age brackets \nCompetition each day may begin as early as 8:00 AM. Players participating in the senior events on Friday may also play in the double events on Sunday.
