About Coweta County

Coweta County is located in the west-central portion of Georgia. It is part of the metro Atlanta region and is about 30 minutes south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on I-85.

The county seat is Newnan, and six other cities/towns, as well as several other unincorporated communities, are located within the county. The northwest corner of Coweta borders the Chattahoochee River in Chattahoochee Bend State Park.

Nearby Airports

The Newnan-Coweta County Airport is 30 minutes southwest of Atlanta and offers accessibility and a friendly atmosphere. It provides a convenient and efficient location for business and leisure travel in the southwest quadrant of metropolitan Atlanta and west-central Georgia. The airport is a full-service fixed-base operator (FBO), and it provides air-charter service and features a 5,500-foot-by-100-foot runway.

We are also just 20 to 30 minutes south of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world’s busiest airport and home to Delta Air Lines, the world’s largest airline hub.

Driving Directions

From Atlanta:

  • Head south on Interstate 75/Interstate 85 toward Columbus
  • Take Exit 47 to Highway 34/Bullsboro toward Newnan

From Columbus:

  • Follow Interstate 185 North to Interstate 85 North
  • Take Exit 41 to U.S. 27-Alt/U.S. 29 North to Jackson St. (Newnan)

From Macon:

  • Take Interstate 75 North toward Atlanta
  • Get on Interstate 85 South toward Columbus
  • Take Exit 47 to Highway 34/Bullsboro toward Newnan

Parking

There are a number of public lots that offer free parking options in Newnan and Senoia, as well as plenty of on-street parking. There are no parking meters in either downtown Newnan or Senoia. Please pay attention to signage since some spaces are reserved parking.

How to Get Around

By Trolley or Shuttle

The City of Newnan trolley is a free fixed-route service that is accessible to all. Riders can explore downtown Newnan shops, businesses and restaurants, as well as Ashley Park, with easy access to:

  • Newnan City Hall
  • Dillard’s at Ashley Park (West Entrance)
  • Regal Cinemas at Ashley Park

Please note that locations and stops may change.

Operating Schedule

Friday, 1 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, 1 to 7 p.m.
Sunday, 1 to 7 p.m.

The first pickup is at 1 p.m. at Newnan City Hall. The last pickup is at 7 p.m. on each day of operation.

Operating Information

  • The trolley departs at least 5 to 10 minutes between stops, depending on the number of riders.
  • The entire trolley route is approximately 30 minutes.
  • Trolley’s maximum capacity is 26 seats, and each one is equipped with wheelchair lifts for at least two persons with disabilities.
  • Trolley operates rain or shine.
  • Trolley is equipped with bicycle racks.
  • Service animals are allowed.

By Bike

Coweta County is a bike-friendly community with bike lanes throughout the cities, as well as the LINC and other bike trails.

Need a rental or got a flat? Rent bikes at the TREK store in Newnan or get your (two) wheels serviced at either TREK or Senoia Bicycle.
