Hello darlin’, and welcome to Coweta County. Located a mere 30 minutes south of Atlanta, we offer a quiet escape from city life. From pastoral farms and the serene Chattahoochee River to idyllic Main Streets and boundless shopping, we have a plethora of reasons to visit.
Our History
Our history is long, but we’ll keep it short.
Since 1825, our 446 square miles of Southern ground has witnessed everything from the pivotal Civil War battle at Browns Mill to the infamous “Murder in Coweta County” trial. We’ve birthed country music stars and seen zombies traipsing through our gardens. At one point, we boasted of having one of the wealthiest cities in the country. And, back in the 1800s, we were home to the first college to offer a Master of Arts degree to women (yeah, we’re pretty progressive). Through it all, we’ve leaned into our hospitality, fed our hopes, raised a drink to our dreams and served up plenty of stories.
