Ham radio operators from the Newnan Regional Amateur Radio Club in Newnan will once again be participating in a national amateur radio exercise from 1pm on Saturday, June 28 until 2pm on Sunday, June 29 at the Madras Community Center.
Hams from across North America ordinarily participate in Field Day by establishing temporary ham radio stations in public locations to demonstrate their skill and service.
There will be testing sessions for an Amateur Radio license on Sat, June 28 from 2 – 4pm and Sun, June 29 from 2 – 3pm. Exam fee is $14 cash. There will also be a “fox hunt” to hunt down a radio broadcasting a signal on Saturday starting at 4 P.M. A license is not required to join the hunt.
