Jazz in the Park: Jazz Legacy Project presents Billie Holiday

Second in our Jazz in the Park line up is the Jazz Legacy Project presents Billie Holiday featuring Maria Howell. Jazz Legacy Project brings casual jazz listeners inside the minds and music of the most influential and interesting American musicians of all time. Drummer Justin Varnes leads ensembles of various sizes in engaging performances that highlight masters in the jazz tradition such as Billie Holiday. Maria Howell is an actor and vocalist whose singing career blossomed after her role as the choir soloist in The Color Purple, eventually sharing the stage with Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Ray Charles, Earl Klugh, and Ronnie Laws.
