The Senoia Area Historical Society’s Monthly Program on February 13th will feature author Allan C. Payton, the author of a civil war story, “1,417 Days in Rebellion:A History of the 19th Georgia Regiment”.

As a lover of U.S. history, Payton decided to make a commitment to find out more about his ancestor, John. Bunyan Samples. J. B. Samples was Payton’s paternal great-great grandfather. According to family lore, Samples was a struggling one-legged farmer in Georgia. Payton’s research about his ancestor led him to an amazing story of the 19th Georgia Regiment. Payton will have copies available for purchase and autographing.

The museum doors will open at 6:30 PM for light refreshments and museum touring, the program will start at 7:00 P.M. SAHS members, Historians and corporate sponsors are always free, non-members are encouraged to donate $5.00 per visit.
